    Scope of the Position

    • Supervision of the Shipping department and its employees by coordinating day to day production shipping and receiving activities to ensure on-time customer shipments
    • Coordinating with Quality & Production to accurately schedule shipping and maintain inventories in a safe working environment.


    • Monitor the accuracy of bills of lading and timely transmission of ASNs
    • Maintain and ensure optimization of the shunt driver schedule
    • Ensure customer routing instructions are being followed on every shipment
    • Monitor and track, as required, any customer returnable containers
    • Assist in warehouse cycle counting of finished goods
    • Document and report on all activities
    • Serve as back up to Customer Service for Customer systems checks
    • Participate in corrective action plan development, implementation and follow-up as delivery problems occur
    • Train, develop and evaluate new employees
    • Maintain neat and orderly work environment
    • Provide support and maintain compliance with all company guidelines, union contracts, TS16949, ISO14001, CTPAT
    • Any additional responsibilities deemed necessary by management


    • Minimum - High School Diploma coupled with least 4 years experience in a manufacturing environment in a logistics role, preferably a supervisory role
    • Knowledge of:

      • Business and management principles involved in resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods and coordination of people and resources
      • Customer needs, meeting quality standard for service and evaluation of customer satisfaction
      • Raw materials, productions processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective production, assembly and distribution of goods
      • Knowledge of principles and methods for moving goods by air, rail, sea or road including the relative costs and benefits
    • Skills:
      • Use of computers, preferably in a PC, Window-based operating environment
      • Organizing resources and establishing priorities
      • Develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures
      • Communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with all levels of personnel
      • Design and implement systems necessary to collect, to maintain, and analyze data
      • Identify problems, basic and complex, review related information to develop and evaluate options an implement solutions
      • The ability to train/teach others on all of the required shipper/receiver job duties
      • Manage one’s own time and the time of others
