Scope of the Position
Primary responsibility is to perform change over, set up, and adjustments of Injection Molding Machines in a timely and accurate manner. Goal is on time delivery of quality parts to our customers.
Must perform all aspects of setting up jobs for production (i.e. mold change, robots, fixtures, etc.), as well as change resin and concentrate for mold changes to assure proper dry time has been allotted and dryers are set correctly.
Change over fixtures for next mold and make certain they are plugged in and working properly.
Reads and comprehends set-up cards to effectively set up, maintain and troubleshoot molding machine processes and parameters.
Troubleshoot equipment and technical issues as needed.
Ensure that all components have been ordered and brought to press for the next job.
Verifies that process parameters are set to the set up parameter sheet; deviation sheets must be completed as needed. Ensures process change log is completed.
Cleans and maintains equipment. Ensures work center is clean, neat and free of any safety issues.
Prepares the change over of manufacturing equipment, which includes any auxiliary equipment needed.
Works to ensure change over time is as minimal as possible. Ensures any necessary change over paperwork is completed and turned in to supervisor.
Follows help chain as needed and maintains a positive and cooperative attitude throughout the workday.
Must be able to drive hi-lo and be properly licensed. Operates hi-lo in accordance with safety guidelines considering speed, visibility, and load size.
Understands the effect on the environment of departing from specified operating procedures (work practices) and the potential legal consequences to the employee and the facility.
Must be flexible for change and be able to work well under deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
Responsible for maintaining 5S standards as they relate to housekeeping in assigned work area and cleans up work area after performing change-overs / set-ups.
Maintains compliance to company policies, work rules, safety and housekeeping standards and follow ISO 14001 and TS 16949 requirements per the standard.
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred with one-year prior injection molding experience. Education and /or prior experience may be waived if able to demonstrate the capability of performing the requirements of the job.
Ability to read, write, understand and speak English at a basic level.
Must have current Michigan Drivers License and able to pass hi-lo certification tests.
