    Scope of the Position

    This position reports directly to the Quality Manager and has no direct supervisory responsibilities. Decisions are made regarding own work on most efficient completion of responsibilities. Typical decisions include how to handle errors and/or discrepancies. Problem solving activities include resolving dilemmas arising from malfunctions and visual inspection, and accurate completion of required paperwork.


    Performs Dock Audits as assigned and performs scheduled process & product audits daily.

    Assist manufacturing in the training of associates on quality standards. Provide support in IATF 16949 certification and standards.

    Alert Quality Manager of any issues relating to process deviations or findings.

    Participate in corrective action process.

    Ensure the follow up of the resolution of any internal/external quality problems.

    Assist in developing Quality procedures and work instructions in relation to quality functions.

    Perform SPC measurements on check fixtures per assigned duties and the maintain gage area in a neat and clean environment.

    Work with QE on process changes and capability studies. Support prototype builds and data collection and report builds.

    Assist Quality Manager in any tasks that may need to be performed.

    Accurately complete and distribute shift reports.

    Maintain Gagetrack Database, track and manage gage calibration system.

    Coordinate Gage calibrations & layouts

    Review calibration & layout reports and advise Quality Manager of results.

    Participate in Internal IATF audits as part of audit team.

    Conduct Control Plans audits at assigned intervals.

    Write gage work instructions.

    File daily inspection sheets & enter SPC data as required.

    Assist with auditing, counting and labeling of parts going to outside services (Stripper).

    The understanding and knowledge of the importance of safety characteristics and their requirements for monitoring.

    Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

    Perform related duties as assigned by supervisors and/or managers.

    Perform physical demands of Quality Auditor.

    Keeps work environment clean.


    Successfully perform the requirements of this position, the incumbent must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and previous quality experience or the ability to learn/gain knowledge. Good communication skills both oral, written and math. Ability to perform ES testing, IE film build testing and occasional travel. Organizational ability, detail-mindedness, computer skills using Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint and SPC process. Proven attendance and safety records with the ability to work in a team environment are necessary. Upper body mobility is required along with the physical requirements of lifting, carrying and pushing/pulling. Must be able to stand 100% of the time with frequent walking. The incumbent will be required to lift using one or two hands from 1 lb. to 50 lbs. during the duration of his/her shift. Must be able to carry objects weighing 1 lb. to 50 lbs. during the duration of his/her shift. The incumbent will be required to deliver product which includes use of two wheel dolly or cart occasionally to frequently using forceful abilities from 1 to 70 pounds during the duration of the his/her shift.
