    Scope of the Position

    The Materials Coordinator will manage production suppliers. Plan all incoming Raw materials, purchased components, packaging, sub-suppliers and outside services to support manufacturing and shipping requirements and oversee Receivers in accordance with stated policies, procedures and departmental goals. Directly or through manager, ensures achievement of company goals and objectives. This position participates fully in department initiatives. This position will work closely with the Materials Manager.

    Responsibilities

    Coordinate various outbound shipments related to vendors/production (i.e. Scrap processor, returnable containers; materials for out of house tryouts).

    Coordinate receiving schedules to ensure a smooth flow of incoming products.

    Coordinate the movement of purchased materials.

    Contact suppliers regarding errors in partial or duplicate shipments, prices and substitutions.

    Maintain strict control over inventory levels for production in order to meet internal and external demand of product.

    Identify discrepancies between shipments and orders and take action.

    Cycle counts of MRO items, reconciliation, and receiving

    On-call from the plant by cell phone after hours.

    Qualifications

    Minimum 3 years’ experience in the Automotive Industry

    Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.

    Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

    Strong computer skills with high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, emphasis on Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of Maximo system.

    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

    Ability to manage multiple projects.
