Overview

Scope of the Position

Facilitates in the development and implementation of continuous improvement activity plans. Summarizes results of activities and works with management staff, as needed, implementing corrective actions. Works with management staff to assist with policy development, deployment, productivity and quality improvement realization.

Responsibilities

Integrates and implements the Toyota Production System philosophy, methodology, tools and techniques within the plant.

Assists the entire plant, from Production Control to Shipping and Receiving in following and incorporating these tools and techniques into each job process.

Works with shop floor personnel to eliminate waste, design and implement new processes, develop standard work flow, and incorporate help chains at all levels and processes.

Measurables: extent of pull system implementation, reductions / increases in key measurables (operational availability, PCS / operator hour, scrap, quality, changeover time).

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None.

DECISION MAKING:

Moderate amount of independent decision-making. Occasionally creates employee training for processes within the continuous improvement activity plans. Assists management in the application of policies, procedures, and addressing employee concerns. High impact of decisions on employee morale/relations, procedures, policies, and staffing.
