Scope of the Position:

This is a generic Internship posting to cover all Corporate and Plant level positions in locations across the U.S. and Canada. Flex-n-gate is a leading Tier 1 manufacturer (Ranked 10th /100 Top North American Suppliers in 2015) and supplier of large stamped metal and welded components, plastic parts, exterior lighting, and assemblies for the automotive industry. We are Global Multi-national Company with 55 facilities around the globe, including 26 facilities across the U.S. with 11 in Michigan.

Responsibilities:

The intern hired for these positions should expect to learn all facets of consistent with the area of study and will leave this position with invaluable skills and industry knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a major in the area of studies such as Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Quality, Electrical, Chemical, Optics Lighing or Weldling engineering
  • Ability to use MS Office, Mini Tab, AutoCad & other analytical and planning tools.
  • Processes strong analytic and statistic skills
  • Has the ability to work independently
  • Reads drawings and engineering instructions
  • Apply knowledge of engineering science and technology
  • Identify problems, develop and evaluate options to implement solutions
  • Work with manufacturers or field representatives as necessary
  • Listens effectively to manufacturing personnel to assess problems and solutions
  • Participate in department training programs
  • Maintain up-to-date engineering knowledge and stay current with industry trends and best practices
