Scope of the Position:

This is a generic Entry-level Engineering posting to cover all Corporate and Plant level positions in locations across the U.S. and Canada. Flex-n-gate is a leading Tier 1 manufacturer (Ranked 10th /100 Top North American Suppliers in 2015) and supplier of large stamped metal and welded components, plastic parts, exterior lighting, and assemblies for the automotive industry. We are Global Multi-national Company with 55 facilities around the globe, including 26 facilities across the U.S. with 11 in Michigan.


The Engineer in Training is an engineering graduate on a first assignment with the Company. Engineering graduates include Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Lighting, Optics, Welding, Industrial, Quality, or Manufacturing Engineers. Has knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. Usually works under the direction of engineering staff

  • Must be a major in area of studies such as Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Quality, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical, Optics, Lighting, or Welding engineering.

· Ability to use MS Office, MiniTab, AutoCad & other analytical and planning tools.

· Possesses strong analytic and statistic skills

· Has the ability to work independently

  • Read drawings, and engineering instructions
  • Apply knowledge of engineering science and technology
  • Identify problems, develop and evaluate options to implement solutions
  • Work with manufacturers or field representatives as necessary
  • Listens effectively to manufacturing personnel to assess problems and solutions
  • Participate in department training programs
  • Maintain up-to-date engineering knowledge and stay current with industry trends and best practices
